Female lines

Enchantress

Jennings Enchantress S13 is possibly the best of the Enchantress female line to date.  Moderate size and fleshing ability in a feminine package best describes this beautiful angus cow.

Merle

CM Merle 902W is a new female selected for her exceptional growth and carcass traits while still maintaining a moderate frame cow.

Merle II

Although this female traces back to a full sister owned by Clyde Mattson as well, she was bred by Duff Angus. She represents a complementary genetic package to our original Merle line and is another example of Traveler x EXT genetics being combined. Probably the longest bodied female line in our herd.

Blackbird

The mother of this cow is a flush sister of OCC Galileo and a half sister to the famous OCC Eureka. Both of these sons from the 1204 cow have heavily influenced our herd. We took the opportunity to start our own blackbird genetic line by purchasing a daughter of this cow sired by the ABS sire, Badger.

Erica

This cow is an OCC Rear End daughter and she is backed by two other Ohlde sires, Missing Link and Eureka. No surprise she has such a wonderful udder. These cows are known for being among the best mother’s in the entire herd. The heifer in this picture is a daughter of Jennings David and is a great example his females.

Ebony

While this line of females came to us from the Jauer Herd in northern Iowa, her own sire is Dunlouise Jipsey Earl whose semen was imported directly from Aberdeen county Scotland. This combination has provided us with the ideal genetics to maintain our moderate mature size.

Lassie

The foundation of this family was a Scotch Cap daughter purchased from Nichols Farm in Iowa. Several generations of Ohlde Sires including Jet Stream, the sire of this cow, have been very complimentary to the strong carcass values found in this group of females.

Blackcap

This female combines the Genetics of both Ohlde Cattle Co. (dam) and Green Gardens Angus (sire) into one beautiful cow. Knowing both of these herds it is clear these females are backed by many generations of moderate mature size, excellent udders, sound feet, and outstanding mothers. It is also understandable that she combines both Traveler and EXT.

Juanada

An initial purchase directly from the Ohlde Herd. Both the Juanada and the Blackcap cows in our herd are descendants of this foundation cow. No other cow has contributed more to the moderate sized cow that works so well in our rotational grazing system.
